Brazil exported 33 million sacks of coffee in the 2010 harvest year and is therefore the coffee export world champion. The country currently determines approx. 30% of the global market.

Various methods are used for the coffee harvest. A distinction is made between mechanical harvesting or non-mechanical methods of “picking” and "stripping”.
